posted in tags  thread liste I think the tag names and descriptions are confusing.
transfer-to says "Transfer save data to another game" (tagged game is the source of transferred data) transfer-from says "Transfer save data from another game" (tagged game is the target of transferred data) I personally would assume the following based on the short name. transfer-to is "Transfer save data from another game to this game" (tagged game is the target of transferred data) transfer-from is "Transfer save data from this game to another game" (tagged game is the source of transferred data) In effect, the direction is swapped. When it comes to opposite tags, understandability is especially important. So I definitely think these need to change and only a few games have them so now's the time to change it to something that makes more sense.
transfer-here, transfer-there transfer-send, transfer-receive transfer-export, transfer-import transfer-in, transfer-out are these any good or are their other suggestions? Import and export are probably the most explicit on their meaning. But having the "transfer" word with them is redundant. So use import[data] and export[data], or if common prefix is desired: dataimport and dataexport. In reference to the "old", what I understood to be transfer-to would then be import, and transfer-from would be export. Done!
dataimport and dataexport I think these are better tags anyhow, thank you. However, since there was the to/from confusion, I am unsure about: Anno 1701 Assassin’s Creed II Assassin's Creed Bloodlines because I do not know what ther editor who tagged them had in mind regarding to/from Tag group edit logs would've shown that (it was me), and two of them had explanations which should've covered it for all three. Anyway, fixed. | |||
