I request to split these genres.
Let's take an example. The game info for "Darkwing Duck" says Tie-In, Manga. Well in my opinion Darkwing Duck or other Disney "cartoons" are those games I do not want to find when I search for manga games. Here I would expect a Japanese drawing style. Both are contrary things or styles.
In the editor sheet the genre says "manga/cartoon" but on the game info page it only says manga. It's strange to see this with standard western toons. So either in the game info it should appear "Manga/cartoon" or split it (better). I think many people search for "Japanese style", animeish games. And they don't want to find a Donald Duck or Asterix game when checking the "Manga" box.

Originally (as you know) we had just manga, then I renamed (now everywhere!) to manga/cartoon as I didn't know how to classfy all those Disney games...
Perhaps we would simply find a better name that comprise both (as someone might then request to add a third/fourth graphic genre to the list) like the comics "french school".
The obvious solution would be "use tags", but tagging THOUSANDS of anime (hentai?) games scares me, considering that the most common tag is actually
soccer with just 658 games...

Agree.
I vote for split, the two are different enough.

Manga is just Japanese word for comic(s) as anime is for cartoon(s), which I'm sure you already know. There's really no good way to put them together beyond that - it's simply a matter of style, animanga just explicitly states that it's the Japanese cartoon/comic style that's used and not much else.
Ok, split.
I'm not sure, we should have more manga than cartoon games, so I would rename "manga/cartoon" to manga and add the "cartoon" genre.
This means that there will be a number of wrong marked games (all the non-manga ones) that need to be edited.
Done, now we have two separate styles: <b>manga</b> and <b>cartoon</b>.
I've edited a bunch of games to see if it works but I stopped at [[game:A Bug's Life]]... looks so much manga to me...
And what about the italian [[game:Winx]] clearly based on japanese anime?
Bug's life looks the same as all the Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck games, so it should be cartoon as I don't recognize any characteristics in it that would set it apart from those (especially the cover pic on one of the titles looks absolutely nothing like anime/manga). Western cartoons tend to look more like the super deformed variant of japanese manga/anime anyways, except for the western comic style which tries to look realistic but looks almost invariably boring (especially the perspectives). Winx should probably get both or just manga, IMO.
