Now we can add "related links" in the proper way.
Just click to add an article to a game, and under "document type" select "Site entry"
Use the "source" field to insert the full URL and use the "title" as... title.
Right now the main text field is not used, will be used for a review of the site, you can type it right now if you wish.
These articles are not displayed like the others, but grouped under a "related sites" section.
For example: [[gameid:162923 Trilby's Notes]]
This will be useful to feed the links page too.
For now it works well with games, I've not edited the groups and platforms pages yet. I tried to change cjlee's review of [[gameid:158214 Chaos Seed]] so as to match with this new feature, but I couldn't as when I clicked on "Publish", this just show me up the preview page with "NO CONTENT". So I just added a dot and then it worked (the dot is seen nowhere). by Sanguine# 1 year and 1 month ago (updated 1 year and 1 month ago)This addition likely fulfills the "game has description" criteria like every other article type, so that should be "fixed" at some point. Only main description, or maybe review too, should fulfill it.
Edit: Oh wait, no. It doesn't.. so it was fixed already?
Edit2: The link articles show up in the article RSS feed, by the way, and I'm pretty sure people who are subscribed to the new article feed don't really want to see them :) "NO CONTENT"
Done.
"game has description"
Done. (I kept all the type of articles except external site entries)
RSS
Done. Doesn't work with tag groups it seems. Tried adding to OpenAL but it just.. disappeared.
The link is still part of the original article, because of the disappearance :) Doesn't work with tag groups it seems. Tried adding to OpenAL but it just.. disappeared.

It worked for my browser. I went to the group and the link you added was there. it linked to the openal website.
The following browsers work (I'll add to the list after i goto the office in a few hours):
Firefox 2.0.0.6 on kubuntu linux
Elinks 0.11.1 on kubuntu linux
Opera 9.23 on kubuntu linux re: re:It worked for my browser. I went to the group and the link you added was there. it linked to the openal website.
Andrea seems to have edited that group after me, so I assume he fixed it, but didn't announce it :) re: re: re:It worked for my browser. I went to the group and the link you added was there. it linked to the openal website.

It also seems that related links for groups has been disabled. but didn't announce it
I had unified the comments/sites/news code for games and groups, but not for platforms, so it wasn't ready yet.
Now games, groups and platform share the same code.
It also seems that related links for groups has been disabled.
What you mean? The OpenAL group related sites works. by Sanguine# 1 year and 1 month ago (updated 1 year and 1 month ago)What you mean? The OpenAL group related sites works.
The link didn't appear there when I added it, and I noticed it there only after you apparently removed the link from the original article there.
Edit: Meaning, I should've seen the original Official site link and the related sites official site link, but there was only one at that time.
Edit2: Zerothis seems to have re-iterated my statement with that... so I'm very confused with his earlier reply, as to what it was about. Forgot to "annunce" that the latest 10 related sites added are now visible on the right side of the links page. Platforms can't have related sites at the moment it seems.
Useful for linking to the developer/producer/publisher or other resources that might be of interest. |
