I just uploaded several MDK2 screenshots with character set to probably all of them. But now that I checked the character bios and the image manager, none of them had them. Not used much until now, but it always seemed to work.
I'll check later. I've added some character portraits to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and it never failed...
Can you give me more details? (game/image/character) When you look at a character's informations, maybe this could be a good thing that the name of the game which the screen come from appears under the screen, so we can click on it to see the game's informations. The exact game was MDK2
The five latest images uploaded to it by me other except for the one with the two "dogs". All of the others had character set for them. I can't remember anymore if the image manager displayed the associated character's name, but it doesn't do it now, neither does the gallery.
The characters set in order: Max, Max+Bad Max (not set), Dr. Fluke Hawkings *2, Shwang Shwing
Even if the character info is missing in the image manager, the images are missing in the character pages themselves in MDK group.
Edit: The images were not character/portrait type, so is that possibly the reason? The Kurt image (which I uploaded earlier, currently cover image of MDK2) wasn't either, so it can't be... this could be a good thing that the name of the game which the screen come from appears under the screen
There likely will be a list of games in which the character appears in so the game name under the screen will be somewhat useless after that. Delete a characterIs it impossible to delete a character ?
I've added Montblanc from Final Fantasy twice ( first time, second time), but I can't delete him. re: Delete a characterIs it impossible to delete a character ?
You can rename them into some other character at least.. I've used that to correct at least one or two of my own mistakes.. Actually, there are some characters others have stored that need to be deleted.
* Link in Soul Calibur - although he appears in the GC version of SC2, he's Zelda character.
* Yoshimitsu is listed as belonging to both Soul Calibur and Tekken when he's a Tekken character, appears in PS2 version of SC2 as bonus character.
* Spawn appears in Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2 but is not part of the series.
These were "bonus/easter egg" characters from other games or media and did not belong to the Soul Calibur series. Should be included by adding the appropriate tag to the game and from there including it, or waiting for the "appears in this and that game" feature. Duplicating the characters for the group, as two of these are, is certainly not the way.
Edit: I removed Yoshimitsu's SC relation. Don't know how the images in SC took onto this, though. Disagree for Yoshimitsu. He's now part of the Soul Calibur series as he appears in every SC2 (not only PS2, that's Heihachi), SC3 (maybe in SC4 ?).
Agree for Link, Spawn and Heihachi.
-EDIT- : Problem persists with genres / subgenres. Should San Goku be listed in Dragon Ball or DBZ ? by andread# 8 months and 1 day ago (updated 8 months and 1 day ago)Didn't thought about bonus characters, but with characters belonging to more than a group (like the ones in KOF and Final Fight) I've added a double relation (es. Andy Bogard, Kim Kaphwan, Mai Shiranui, etc)
I just readded Yoshimitsu to both groups.
Don't know how the images in SC took onto this, though.
They still keep the relations, because the the group is not stored in the relations image/character.
Link as a soulcalibur is wrong.
EDIT:
note:S on Goku is the character of the Chinese legend, instead the DB(Z) character is called just Goku.
Goku appears in DB, DBZ, and DBGT, so we can chose to create a "global" group comprising any Dragon Ball series, or link those characters to multiple groups...
Perhaps the second option is the best, as the three series do not share all the characters. Just a reminder, we have a huge list if DC Comics characters.
If you need to (i.e.) add the Joker to the Batman group, just upgrade the already available character, instead of adding a new one.
To be sure, before adding a new character use the Global search (the box above every page) to see if it was already added. by dandyboh# 8 months and 1 day ago (updated 8 months and 1 day ago)EDIT:

Well, I'm not really in Dragon Ball (Z), the character is often (badly ?) called "San Goku" in the french animes.

Agree. I already did that for Tintin (for the group Tintin and for the group European Comic). But I did not think about this :

I'm gonna fix it.
-edit- : done.
Maybe that the comma should not appeared (or "undefined" or something like that before the comma) when character's sex is undefined (for example : Sin). I just uploaded several MDK2 screenshots with character set to probably all of them. But now that I checked the character bios and the image manager, none of them had them.
Same problem for me. I added three characters images for Grandia Saturn, I specified the character but associations were not made (I had to edit the images to add the characters associations). Son Goku of some chinese story was a monkey king ( Sun Wukong), so no, I don't think they should be the same. It's true the name is from the chinese thingy, but they're not supposed to be the same.
Also, this would be quite a hairball to use only the source character which people used as the real character. You have no idea how many characters we'd need to get rid of if we followed this. And people certainly would be going WTF in rounds.

Crap, so I made a mistake. I experienced this bug again while uploading portraits to Baldur's Gate games. And the only thing different with the images that I uploaded and failed to associate a name with them and the ones that did associate them, was that the ones that didn't were uploaded from my own computer instead of from some URL. This seems to be still present, this time with [[gameid:20477 Turok 2]].

Character was set to Adon during upload. Adon was re-added alongside Joshua afterwards.
