There are two versions of this game. The rare 'too easy' version has a red box and label, the common version has a blue box and label. Mattel acquired rights to produce Battlestar Gallactica 'electronic toys', but later was denied the rights to use the name for videogames forcing them to change the title.
The game still had blatant references to the TV series such as the Cylon-like robots.
There's a lot of blatant references to Star Trek, Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica in many games.
One of the first games ever was a blatant unauthorized use of Star Trek. It probably wouldn't have looked good for Glen A. Larson Productions if they had sued one of their own licensees for a videogame related IP violation without suing the thousands of unaffiliated parties who routinely stole their ideas. And they had probably had their fill of lawsuits after George Lucas sued them claiming Battlestar Galactica was a ripoff of Star Wars, dispite the fact that Battlestar Galactica movie/pilot completed post production
before Star Wars was in theators. The settle out of court due to the fact that ABC was intrested in the series
after the success of Star Wars and public opinion was it was a rip-off. (They probably would have lost in court, dispite the facts)
