For the Japanese PC-Engine version they replaced the original characters with Doraemon and his friends. The US version named Cratermaze on the other hand features the original characters from the arcade version. Besides the character exchange both versions have different music and instead of treasure chests, Doraemon has to pick up pies. The gameplay consists of searching all of the said treasure chests or pies, so that a key spawns which opens the exit door of the maze. The controls are good, the graphics and sound are average but thats ok for this kind of game. After about ten rounds or so the game becomes rather monotonous though, because the half dozen graphical sets begin to repeat constantly and you have seen all gameplay elements and extras.
