The main portion of the game is played through a dialogue screen where you choose your available options and then watch your actions executed on screen. Like other interaction games, the options range from two to 4 choices of available routes that you may take. The right choice will lead to continued action and interactivity while the wrong action won't necessarily kill you but it will lead you into wayward routes and games of chance with opponents (rocks-scissors-paper).
In addition to the standard dialogue and interaction screens, there are fighting sequences where you battle it out with Terminator-type robots. Alice is an interesting change of pace from standard interactive movies that features a fun main character and a mixture of different interactions that gamers will enjoy.
