Official description

The hero of the story is U-1 an awkward, young elementary school student scorned and ridiculed by his peers. Even his love interest, Little Piko, despises him. His only friend and companion is his small dog Puma. However, U-1 has a secret, he's the descendent of a legendary hero, Gitaroo-man. Gitaroo Man is an entirely new type of music/rhythm game, where your instrument is actually your weapon in the fight against evil. Unlike traditional music games which simply featured pressing buttons in rhythm with on screen actions, Gitaroo Man requires players to use both the analog stick and the controller buttons at the same time.
