Aperture Science is part of the Half-Life universe (I think it was mentioned in Episode Two), making this a sort of spin-off from the regular Gordon Freeman alien overlord fighting action. Sanguine 2008-06-08 03:51:20The game's extremely short (roughly 2 hours for me with initial performance problems, few crashes and several deaths included) but the ending is strangely "rewarding" with the "Still Alive" song sung by GLaDOS. Sanguine 2007-11-14 00:03:12Portal is a new single player game from Valve. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games on the horizon and will offer gamers hours of unique gameplay.
The game is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life 2's Gravity Gun innovated new ways to leverage an object in any given situation.
Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuvering objects, and themselves, through space.
Portal is coming in the Fall of 2007 as part of The Orange Box, which also includes Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode Two. The Orange Box will be available for the PC, as well as the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 console systems. 2007-09-18 20:50:10 - official description Related site: Aperture Science website
