This game originally came on a cassette packaged in a zip-lock bag, along with an eight-page instruction booklet. In 1981, Ultima (Ultima I) was released and at the same time Akalabeth was rereleased in a traditional package on a 5.25" disk. The cover art for this release was reused for Ultima II. In 1997, Origin released The Ultima Collection, in which Akalabeth was known as Ultima 0. Old 12 copies of the self-published original were sold, Richard Garriott kept one for himself and he also has a box with 12 more new in mint condition. So there is 25 copies or less in the world. Garriott has promised to auction his boxed copies one at a time on ebay. 2006-01-23 02:41:07
