Game description by Daniel from Flashback Abandonware:
Lemmings are little green headed men with a big task to achieve. Each level has a certain % rate that needs to be saved in order to pass the level. The degree of difficulty increases as you go higher through the levels. Some of the tools that you are equipped with include things such as shovels, pickaxes, self destructing lemmings, umbrellas, bridge builders etc. By clicking on the 2 paws, it will pause the game in case you need some time to think up a strategy of how to pass, or simply need a break. Each level also has a time level, but in the earlier stages is more than easy enough to beat. Help the little men reach their target and save as many as you can!
Lemmings is now considered abandonware and can be downloaded legally from Flashback Abandonware.
You also need DOSBox to run MS-DOS games in Windows XP, but if you're new to emulation, DOS or computers... you may have some trouble getting DOSBox to run properly... well, good luck. Currently, there are two major builds of DOSBox--the official build and the Daum Cafe build with extra features:
