Tyrian was re-released in 1999 as Tyrian 2000 with fifth episode and bug fixes and windows support. It was later made freeware (in 2004), as well as its source code and graphics were made available under open source licenses in 2007. Althought the original source code (in Pascal) is not available, the OpenTyrian project has the Pascal-converted-to-C source code available under GNU Public License. Sanguine 2007-05-16 23:32:01A great overhead shootem up in which the player flys a choice of many different futuristic planes/crafts. If you can imagine Raptor with good gfx, amazing weapons, great enemies, and gameplay that is actually FUN and replayable, you understand the full scope of Tyrian. In my opinion it is the best computergame of all time (and yes, I've played Doom and HL and over 160 other games). 2000-01-12 06:19:14 Related site: Tyrian Repository
