battletoads
A sequel of sorts to one of the most difficult NES games ever. Many of the characters from the first game return here in some new settings. Players are unfortunately limited to only playing as Zitz, but it's not that big a deal. The gameplay remains diverse: there are typical scrolling beat-'em-up stages, a side-scrolling shooter level, a ride on a jet ski, a race to avoid being flattened by a giant brain boulder, a stage where you must rappel to the bottom, and a vertical-scrolling flight on a jetpack. Battletoads for the Game Boy is just as difficult as (if not more than) its big brother, so it's not for the faint of heart. There's some interesting gameplay in here, but don't be surprised if you don't make it halfway through.
