Video game concept

A time-limited event where the player is usually required to press buttons or move their controller according to (possibly randomized) screen prompts to achieve usually a specific results rather than the more freeform style normal gameplay allows.

Alternate name: QTE

The controls differ from normal movement significantly, usually falling to the arrow keys (or WASD, or similar) on PC and on consoles to the four symbol buttons (or d-pad) which are usually used for actions such as shooting rather than movement which is what the action sequences usually use them.

Not related to Apple's QuickTime in any manner.
