Aragorn	humanoid male	Chieftain of the Dúnedain of North, descendant of Elendil who in turn was descendant of Elros Tar-Minyatur (Elrond Half-elven's brother), and one of the Fellowship.
Arwen	humanoid female	Daughter of Elrond Half-elven.
Bilbo Baggins	humanoid male	An unusual hobbit in that he actually enjoys adventure & seeing mountains. He also shows little fear of water despite not being a raised a Bucklander. The Lord of the Rings, Rogues
Boromir	humanoid male	Dúnadan and eldest son of Denethor II, of the House of Húrin.
Elrond Half-elven	humanoid male	Lord of Rivendell, he was given choice of Elven or human fate by the Valar and He chose the immortality of Elves. By the end of the Lord of the Rings, Elrond was well over 6000 years old.
Faramir	humanoid male	Brother of Boromir, and so the second son of Denethor II, of House of Húrin. He is Captain of the Rangers of Ithilien, an elite group of southern Dúnedain.
Frodo	humanoid male	Frodo Baggins, a Hobbit, the ring-bearer. Agreed to the task, set by Elrond's Council, to carry the One Ring to Mount Doom in Mordor and cast it into its depths. The focal figure of the Fellowship.
Galadriel	humanoid female	One of the Noldo Elves, ruler of Lothlórien alongside her husband Celeborn, also known as Lady of Lórien among many other titles. She is bearer of one of the Rings of Power given to Elves.
Gandalf	male	Gandalf the Gray, later Gandalf the White, is one of the Istari (actually Maiar, lesser Valar) sent to help peoples of Middle-earth fight against Sauron.
Gimli	humanoid male	A dwarf, son of Glóin (former companion of Bilbo Baggins) of the House of Durin, and member of the Fellowship.
Glorfindel	humanoid male	An ancient Noldo Elf.
Gollum	humanoid male	His real name was Sméagol, a Hobbit, until his brother found the One Ring.
Gríma Wormtongue	humanoid male	Servant of Saruman the White.
Legolas	humanoid male	Sindar Elf, son of King Thranduil, Prince of Northern Mirkwood. One of the Fellowship and later friend of Gimli.
Merry	humanoid male	Meriadoc Brandybuck, known as Merry to his friends, is one of the Fellowship of the Ring.
Pippin	humanoid male	A hobbit, his real name is Peregrin Took, but is most often called Pippin by his friends. He is one of Frodo's friends from the Shire.
Radagast the Brown	male	One of the Wizards in the Lord of the Rings universe.
Sam	humanoid male	Sam (given name, Samwise Gamgee) is one of Frodo's friends, and the one to accompany him over to the lands of Mordor in quest to rid the world of the One Ring.
Saruman	male	Saruman the White, like Gandal, is one one of the Istari (actually Maiar, lesser Valar) sent to peoples of Middle-earth to help fight Sauron. He later (before the forming of the Fellowship) became servant of Sauron.
Sauron	male	The titular character of the Lord of the Rings. Once the most powerful of Maiar (lesser Valar), a servant of Aulë, until he was corrupted by the Melkor (one of the Valar).
Shelob	monster female	A monstrous, giant spider encoutered by Frodo and Sam on their way to Mordor.
Treebeard	male	The oldest living Ent, also known by his Sindarin name, Fangorn. He lives in the forest of Fangorn.
Witch-king of Angmar	humanoid male	Lord of the Nazgûl, the Ringwraiths, he is one of the bearers of the rings of power given to Men and as such a servant of the Lord of the Rings.
