About Ms. Pac-Man

2008-05-08 (updated 2019-08-29)
This is Tengen's implementation of Ms.Pac-Man released in the USA. Namco would later release another implementation that differers from this one and was developed by a different company. Tengen's version was not licensed by Nintendo and did not carry the 'Nintendo's seal of $10 has been added to the price of this cart'. However, Atari Games (which is also Tengen), did hold the rights to produce Pac-Man games for home systems in the USA at the time; This is a perfectly legitimate cart as far as Tengen's preexisting legal agreement with Namco. Tengen's version has many game variations. 1 Player, 2 Player Alternating, 2 Player Simultaneous Competitive, 2 Player Simultaneous Cooperative (Pac-Man & Ms. Pac-Man). Arcade, mini, big, or strange maze sets. Optional pac-boost (super fast Pac-Man). Large scrolling mazes. 4 levels of difficulty. Namco's version did not have these features, did have Nintendo's seal, cost more, and was release over 3 years later.
