About Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

The best Castlevania game I have come across, bar none. The rawness of some of the backdrops earlier on in the game does nothing to dispel my suspicion that this game was originally intended for a different format, most likely Megadrive or SNES. It seems the game was ten ported over to the Plastation somewhere in development, as the the graphical extravegance increases the more you progress.
Completely unlike the superb Castlevania 4 on the SNES (arguably the second best Castlevania game) Playstation Dracula bears more in common with the Mega Drive conversion in terms of game structure and layout. A mammoth quest, with some lavish backdrops and set pieces, the game is topped off with and stiring musical score which even tops the SNES suite of themes (and thats saying something.) Univerally ignored by th mass public on launch due to its 2 imensional roots, this sprawling Metroid - esque adventure won many fans in the hardcore sector, and this game along with the original Silent Hill and Pro Evolution Soccer demonstrated Konami's 32 - bit prowess at its peak - they always mster any platform they develop for through time. One final note.
If you are searching for this game in its original format, the original pckaging comes complete with a bonus game art material together with a superb Castlevania game music CD demonstration all the various themes across the many formats throughout the ages. Also, try placing the actual game CD in your Hi - Fi. Rest assured, it wont damage your equipment!
