Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a free add-on level first offered to Linux users on 2013-06-28. It's mainly for valve to show off technical aspects of their Source Engine. It mainly features high-dynamic-range rendering (better contrast), that helps keep details from being obscured by otherwise limited contrast range. Because it was originally intended to be included in Half-Life 2, it contains story details that are not otherwise available.
