UFO: Afterlight belongs to the UFO series - UFO: Aftermath and UFO: Aftershock, released in 2003 and 2005 respectively, and originally inspired by the X-COM series. As well as X-COM and our previous UFO editions it consists of two related approaches - global strategy and small-squad tactics are merged together with an interesting story.
