About Gadget Trial

Official description from the manual:

Several decades have passed since the last world war. In the Far East, the Eastern Treaty Union - an allied body comprising of the islands in the region - are busy at work on Project ‘Next-E’, a plan for developing the next generation of mainstay multi-functional weapons of annihilation, or AEWs (Advanced Extripate Weapons) in the form of an accelerated biological computer known as the ‘E-Series’. Artificially created human-weapon hybrids, they represent the smallest army in history. Of the E-series, there exist two lines adjusted according to different philosophies: Type White and Type Black. The time now comes for their practical trials, with their ultimate adoption by the military at stake.

This is a turn-based strategy game. The artwork is cute and there's full voice acting if you're into that, but the gameplay is pretty dull. Better stick with Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics or Advance Wars if you're looking for something more than just eyecandy.

The only problem with your suggestion is that none of those are (natively) for Windows like this one :P

Well, sure that this kind of game is more common on game consoles than computers... Well, the more similar games on Windows I think about are [[game:Heroes of Might and Magic]] and [[game:Age of Wonders]].

In fact, Gadget Trial is a clone of [[game:Advance Wars]], with pretty much the same kind of characters, sometimes with the same names (bomber, fighter, ...). Gadget Trial is just "more sexy" with robot-anime-girls instead of military men, but Advance Wars is much more strategical with an "Advanced Mode" soooooo difficult.

I love this kind of game!
