Personal review
In Pit-Fighter, Atari tries something new by using motion-captured actors to play the game's characters, rather than hand-drawn sprites. Play as a wrestler, kickboxer, or karate expert and fight for money in the pit. Up to three players can play cooperatively. Objects such as crates and knives can be picked up from the floor and used against your opponent. Don't get too close to the surrounding crowd, or one of the bystanders may attack you! The animation is extremely stiff, and the graphics are very grainy (both are a side-effect of using motion capture). The music is pretty terrible, as well. Still, Pit-Fighter is an interesting experiment by Atari, and it's actually kind of fun when playing with a friend or two.
