Personal review

Yaksa was first published as a side-scrolling action game on Japanese homecomputers, so I was surprised to see that the PC-Engine Yaksa became a strange Space Harrier clone. Well, Space Harrier is a good game and thus even the fact that the whole samurai background just doesn't fit the Space Harrier playstyle, I thought it could be a fun game after all. Man, was I wrong. The game manages to be bad in every aspect. The graphics are plain dull with extremely bad scrolling/scaling, which makes the game unplayable. The music and sound effects hurt the ears. This game would be amongst the "Worst 5" PC-Engine games if you ask me.
