Suikoden

My opinion is a little different from above... I think this is a very mediocre RPG. It's ridiculously easy and can be completed in 10+ hours. Leveling is easy and you can gain tons of gold from a mini-game in one of the first towns you'll visit. The story is somewhat entertaining though. I'd generally steer away from this one unless you're a diehard fan of the [[game:Suikoden]] series.

As the son of decorated General Teo McDohl, you join the Imperial Guard when you father leaves to fight in the North. Disgusted by the Emperor's corruption, you later leave the guard to join the Liberation Army. Now you travel the land searching for the 27 Runes of Truth and recruiting like-minded individuals to the cause. Along the way you will have to fight in three different styles of battle: normal, one-on-one, and war. See if you can bring justice to the world in SUIKODEN.

One of the first (and best) RPG for the PlayStation; you can have an army of 108 characters and manage and take care of your castle. There are 3 different battle modes; regular random turn-based RPG battles, one-on-one duels and army battles (which are a little weak, as they act simply as a rock/paper/scissors system).
The soundtrack by 'Tappy' is still one of the best score a game ever had.
