Talk about unforgiving! Wizardry (all three of them, in this case) is an EXTREMELY unforgiving dungeon-crawler RPG which is quite reminiscient of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (with a merciless DM) and old BBS door games. The only problem I have with this game is that it has no qualms with killing off half of your party in the first fight or two and not giving you enough cash to heal the members of your party that AREN'T dead. Aside from that, it's a damn good game, and well worth the hours of banging your head against the wall :)
