Originally to be published by Ubisoft, they were replaced by SEGA 2004-02. Monolith handed over operations to Sony 2005-07-17.
Released in the USA 2005-03-22, Europe 2005-04-15.
Uses the [[gametag:lithtechengine Lithtech Discovery engine]]
Combat consists of typical Matrix styles, including Bullet-time and Wire-fu. Missions are randomly generated multi-objective operations unlike most MMORPG mission/quests that have only one objective. Also unique to this game is the hireing of actors to play famous characters for Live Events in the game. 'normal players' get to participate as a major matrix charaters (Ghost, Morpheus, Niobe, Neo, Seraph, etc) carry out a mission that may or may not succeed.
