Description

This was the pack-in game for the RDI Halcyon system. Thayer is a magician's apprentice sent to retrieve the 5 pieces of the magical Hand of Quoid before the villainous wizard Sorsabal does. Planned as a trilogy, this game only includes 3 of the 5 pieces. While fully animated like Dragon's Lair, the player has full movement control over Thayer. Thayer must solve puzzles, collect and use items to further his quest. This game made full use of the Halcyon's speech synthesis, keyboard text entry and voice recognition. It is also a special edition of sorts. A double sided LD containing many scenes that were not included the single sided arcade release or subsequent versions. The single-sided TQ would be revamped into Kingdom: The Far Reaches and later just "Reaches". Finally, Kingdom 2: Shadoan would be pieced together to reveal the last two parts of the story and bring closure to the series.
