Stocker was inspired by the CBS television series, The Dukes of Hazzard. The object was to drive your stock car across the U.S.A. while avoiding pursuing police cars which would try to stop you by running you off the road and setting up road blocks. Stocker is a non-scrolling game which takes place on several different static displays in which the gameplay is similar to SuperSprint. One of the best features of the game was the great skidding characterstics of the vehicles that would allow you to take corners sideways while leaving a trail of skidmarks in your wake. Your car is not limited strictly to the roadways however using the roads will result in better speed and control. Going off-road to avoid the police roadblocks to get to the next screen is an important aspect of gameplay. Stocker is a terribly underrated game and a true classic from the era.
