Tyrian was re-released in 1999 as Tyrian 2000 with fifth episode, a number of bug fixes and windows support. It was later made freeware (in 2004), as well as its source code and graphics were made available under open source licenses in 2007. Althought the original source code (in Pascal) is not available, the OpenTyrian project has the Pascal-converted-to-C source code available under GNU Public License.
