Personal review
Musashi no Ken is based on a sports manga/anime series about a boy who wants to become a Kendo star. The game adaption is a side-scrolling platform game. The first three levels are training courses and your goal is to reach the end of the level before your pet dog does. The fourth level is a Kendo tournament where you have to beat five opponents in combat. Collecting sword symbols in the first three levels give you a certain amount of special moves you can use in the tournament and thus making the fights easier. After winning the tournament you play all the levels again (just with slightly different colors) and winning the second tournament means winning the game. The game is barely average, even for a rather old Famicom game. Unsatisfying graphics and forgettable music mixed with poor controls.
