Personal review
Earth has been destroyed and you are the commander of the human moon colony. Your task is to -eventually- terraform Earth again. But before you get to that you'll have to research, colonize, mine and fight your way through. Can you defeat the Martians?
This game was (is) great! I've spent so many hours playing with it! I still remember all the main point of the game (like the last Martian wave near the end of the game) and the final screenshot.
Funny note: if you want to get the 100% score, you must finish it without saving, otherwise you'll get 'only' 99%! But it's quite impossible since the game is very long even if you do know it very well.
Play it, it's a must!

Time: It is the year 2200
Place: The last outpost of the United States Space Force (expeditionary)
After a brief but fruitful race to space, America succeeded in establishing a colony
on the Moon 10 years ago and the Russians on Mars. All was fine until Boris Yeltzen,
the Soviet Premier, woke up cranky after an all night drinking binge. He reached for
the button to call his valet, but mistakenly pushed the button that called for a
pre-emptive strike on the US.
On the moon, preparations were underway for an interstellar mission to colonize
other solar systems. Since a true interstellar drive had not been perfected yet,
cryo-sleep was the only way to go. A test of the model colony was to be done using
all the equipment developed for the mission. For the test, the test crew was put
into cryo-sleep for a year to test the system for re-awakening the crew.
On Mars, the Russians had moved STAR city from Earth to continue the 1000 year plan
of a communist solar system.
