Personal review

This is the Famicom port of the C64 adventure game Murder On The Mississippi. The first Western stlye adventure game for the system and the second adventure game after Portopia Renzoku Satsujin Jiken. Despite originating from the US, the Famicom version never made it outside Japan. The game is surprisingly similar to the computer version. The game takes place on a paddle steamer on the Mississippi river, where a terrible murder occured. You and your servant have to find out who the murderer is by talking to the passengers and finding suspicious items. After gathering enough evidence you can accuse your suspect. Though not quite as good as the C64 version, the game is still an interesting piece of software for the Famicom console. In the end however it is only enjoyable when you understand a good amount of Japanese. The game lives from its dialogues and a fan-translation is not (yet) available.
