Interestingly, the developer was able to reduce the hires mode's 4 lines of text at the bottom of the screen to only a single line. This is quite an achievement considering that the 4 lines text are a hardware feature of the Apple ][ and are made to be either on or off with no way, in the hardware, to adjust the height. This single line limit is a frustration some players, but a button press toggles instantly to all-text mode so the last 23 lines can be seen at once.
