Personal review

There were never many table tennis games published. Neither in the 80s nor today. The most prominent early table tennis game was Konami's Ping Pong, an arcade game which played well and was ported to several homecomputers as well as the Famicom Disk System. The FDS version looks very similar to the arcade version, and plays equally well. However you have to play this game a bit until you get a good sense of timing your strokes. Sadly, besides plain 1-player and 2-player modes there is nothing special. No tournaments, no characters, nothing that would make you keep playing. One of the few FDS games that fit on a single side of the disk. Interestingly - instead by Konami itself - the FDS version was published by Nintendo. Maybe to complement their sports games lineup.
