Personal review
As the expansion of X3: Terran Conflict, it improves the merge between war, market and diplomatic systems, making factions weaker if its economy becomes stagnant or making easier to get the help of the enemy of your enemy, and many other new ways to interact with the different species. Also includes a lot of new items, ships, etc...
Sadly, the game is still very slow and frustrating because not only the mission system (almost the same, but with more chained missions that "hide" this radical flaw), but because the uncareness of the game for the player when you finish the tutorial (its difficult to encounter feasible missions or even something relevant to do)
