Description

FZ-011. Rarity Scarce. North America NTSC. 1 player only.
Explore underground caves of a topographically correct game world in this sequel to Pitfall!. Screens are now vertically scrolling. There is no time limit. Lives are unlimited. You also get checkpoints. There are still ladders and pits. But Harry can also swim, float upwards with balloons and leap huge chasms. Scorpions, snakes, crocodiles are still around. Electric eels, bats, toads, and vultures are added to the list of enemies. Harry has some new friends too. Rhonda is his adventure craving niece and Quickclaw is his a pet mountain lion. Harry will be rescuing both of them; this is the object of the game. The Raj Diamond can be located also. THere are gold bars everywhere. Finally there is unnamed mouse to recover. Another addition is music. In this versions their are three tracks. Harry's theme, the main piece and the sad theme (which is a variation of Harry's theme). Quite a lot of game for such an old system.
But, that's not the half of it. Exclusive to Atari 8-bit systems (including the 5200) is a completely new level. With new enemies including ants and crazy bats. There's yet another friend, unnamed (girlfriend?), in need of rescue. What's more, you must recover a rope, a flute and your hat; don't forget the hat. Then you must gather the whole gang and escape the caverns. For a bonus, collect a bunch more treasure in the second half of the game. A map of the 1st and 2nd levels can be seen here. Looking at the 1st map is probably cheating. Go ahead and look at the 2nd map it won't help.
