This game is dimetric not isometric; although it is and anamorphic view of the isometric [[gameid:239 arcade version]]. Ground based missile silos are missing from this version. Zaxxon's humongous personal ship has been replaced with a sportier model. The game bears a slight resemblance to the trench run attack in the Star Wars movie. There are three levels. Asteroid City is guarded by mostly aircraft, missiles, and guns. And there are many solid barrios and force fields. Deep Space can hold many, many enemy aircraft. The Zaxxon confrontation is the last level. If you succeed, you will be returned to Asteroid City to do the whole thing again. It gets harder each time. .

[[spoiler:Easier Deep Space:|Everything you fail to destroy in Asteroid City will take another pass at you in Deep Space. So killing more in Asteroid city will make Deep Space easier.]]
