This is a two phased game. The initial phase is a fixed space shooter with surprisingly complex action. Multiple types of enemies and their multiple types of projectiles are destructible (save one type of ship), but hits results in smaller bits of destructible debris that must be dealt with. But that's just deadly distractions. The goal is to blast away at four levels of gates to release captives from the giant space ants, gain a clue for the next phase, and then gain entry into the text-adventure phase. The text-adventure phase is a simple text-adventure. Completing level 4 of the action game reveals a password to unlock the adventure game whenever desires. Entering the text-adventure phase is always optional.

The joystick is used in the action phase, the keyboard is used in the adventure phase, and never the quain shall meet.
