Editor note

This game was initially rejected by Steam. It was then submitted to Steam Greenlight as a Linux and Mac game. Once Greenlighted, the company set their intent only towards a Windows version and offered a great deal of ambivalence towards Mac and Linux users. There is no proof the company ever even considered making Mac or Linux version of this game or even that they are equipped to do so. Lonely Troops is not some evil megacorporation that could wave a hand and throw a miniscule percentage of their profit at the task porting a game; this is definitely an indie company. It seems to be two guys in a garage or a coffee shop. In fact their office might be a commuter train they spend a lot of time riding. Mac and Linux ports would be a burden, expense, time, at learning new tools and skills. The lead developer does not list any Mac or Linux related skills, experience, training, or connections in his professional profiles.
Well, it just seems interesting to me that two indie game dudes would consider the Mac and Linux market, one market still dismissed and the other mostly ignored by most mainstream publishers (and indie devs also at this point), worthy targets for exploitation to further their game. I admire their boldness, but nothing else about their tactic.

EDIT: 2015 Time to back pedal (I have my own custom bike for that). They did it! And they ported HotK1 too! Cool!
