Beyblade Metal Masters: Nightmare Rex for Nintendo DS lets you step into a thrilling animated world and enter electrifying duels using Beyblades - high-performance spinning tops that can be customised to reflect your combat style.
Based on the popular manga and anime, the aim of the game is simple: just kick your opponent’s uniquely-designed spinner out of the arena or reduce its stamina with slick offensive moves to emerge victorious. The controls are easy to pick up so newcomers will find the art of Beyblade battles intuitive and immediate, and fans of the series will recognise the ravaging special attacks that can be allocated to your custom-configured Beyblades, as well as the 37 cool characters you can play in-game!
While there’s the option to duke it out with a friend via local wireless communications (whether they have their own copy of the game or not) there’s also a wealth of single-player modes: you can learn valuable lessons in Practice, work through the story in Arcade, relish the thrill in the Survival challenge and boldly face over 100 assignments in Mission mode. As you progress you’ll unlock new parts which you can use to create a tailor-made spinning top, and since you can save your own creations, you can have something ready no matter what the world throws at you.
