ST version is probably not 1986, as it can be seen on many sources. This date can be seen on instruction manual, but this one included instructions for all versions of the game, and 1987 can be seen on title screen. It seems that the C64 original version was released in 1986 and the Atari ST port in 1988. "The Games Machine" magazine, which reviewed the game in April 1988, wrote:

GUNSHIP on the ST is a product long overdue. Since it Commodore 64 debut there have been rumours as to just how good the ST version could be. Totally rewritten to take advantage of the 16-bil machine's capabilities, and power, Gunship has finally arrived, an the result is what ST owners have been waiting for.[...]
1988 looks set to be MicroProse's finest hour.

So I think we could assume that the ST version was released in 1988, not 1986.
