Unlike other Alone in the Dark games, Jack in the Dark features no combat, having only puzzles as challenges.
Jack in the Dark was made during the development of Alone in the Dark 2 and was distributed in Christmas 1993 just before the release of Alone in the Dark 2.
Apparently Jack in the Dark was bundled with Alone in the Dark 2's CD-ROM re-release.
