The plot kinda sucks, but at the same time it does have its interesting aspects. Some evil warlord brainwashed seven powerful fighters and they're all going to take over the world by (*Gasp!*) polluting the water and wasting all of the natural resources (The most dastardly plot since Lagoon!). When you start a new game, you pick one of the seven characters, who 'mysteriously' snaps out of it. Your job is now to kick the crap out of the other six, the warlord's top two henchmen, and then the warlord himself.

The innovative thing is how the HP bar is set up: It's in four sections and over time your HP refills gradually, but not over sections. That is, if you take such a beating that you now have 2 1/2 sections of HP left, eventually that will fill all the way back up to three, but it won't start filling up to four. Also, depending on how many sections you have left when you win a battle, you get to accumulate points to Attack, Defense, etc.

All in all, it's a great game with some severe drawbacks in the writing department. Still, everything else is innovative, and the cast is... interesting to say the least. You get some guy made of liquid, a giant lizard-thing, a REALLY obese Chinese guy named P. Lump, a guy who looks like a cross between Zangief, Mr. T, and Gene Simmons from KISS, among others. I gave it an 8.

A so-so fighting game that has a few neat character designs (Amon, Grimrock, and LC-38X/Nuform). The graphics are very reminiscent of anime; in fact, the main characters, Sledge and Layban, look like they were ripped out of Dragonball Z and Hokuto no Ken, respectively. Taiketsu means 'showdown'.
