Description

Atari Games Corporation created Tengen as a subsidiary to convert their coin-ops to home systems. Apparently Tengen did not want to (or could not because of legal and/or financial reasons) develop or publish a SNES version of Rampart. So it was left to Electronic Arts who would publish the game but hire Bitmasters to do the conversion. All these companies hold a copyright for this game. Atari Game's copyright for Rampart presumable passed to Midway when that company bought Atari's coin-op division.
