Each tower is wired with state-of-the-art surveillance cameras, robot guards, and secret security-encoded passageways. Impossible Mission II requires strategic moves and sharp investigative sense to outsmart Elvin and his band of destructive evil doers!

The original computer versions of Impossible Mission were developed by EPYX, which is why their name appears on packaging and in the game itself, even though they (apparently) did not contribute any code for the NES versions. It seems that the NES versions were started from scratch by Novatrade, rather then ported. Apparently SEI did something that Epyx didn't like and they revoked their license. EPYX also got the game's code and a deal was struck with AVE for publishing. Undeterred, SEI went on to manufacture and sell more MI2 carts, these illegal versions are the ones with the black and white label. Neither Epyx nor AVE would not need to bother with suing them, SEI quickly went bankrupt.

The SEI cartridge had a color label and a later black and white label. At anytime, without restrictions, players can save and then later return to that point. Like a mobile checkpoint. However, they will lose their saved game if they switch off the NES unit. There is no battery backed save RAM.
