The best version of Othello for NES. The other version is from HES, so not likely to find it except in certain locals. Nothing else stands out about it.

A month after the Famicom Disk System version Kawada released Othello on cartridge for the Famicom. Two years later the game was published in the US by Acclaim Entertainment. There are no obvious changes between the disk and cartridge version, so I really wonder why they released it in both variants. Well, the same that I wrote about the Famicom Disk System version applies to the cartridge version. It was only a matter of time until an Othello/Reversi game would appear for Nintendo's 8-bit console. And this Othello interpretation has not more than the basics that you could expect it to have. You can choose between 2-player mode or player vs. computer. When playing against the computer you can choose one of four difficulty levels. On higher difficulty levels the program is rather strong. The game has not much to offer nowadays and even in 1986 I think that it was bad value for money.
