7 de 10***A Dwarven Prince on a quest to reclaim his people’s stolen land will take you on a great journey. Explore a continent filled with buried treasures and unearth mysteries that lie hidden since the Great War. Take charge of your Dwarven settlement while mining, exploring and utilizing your resources with a combination of strategy and management.

Order the inhabitants of a Dwarven settlement to dig, build and conduct research in order to strengthen the clan. Be careful though because you must defend your Dwarves from the terrible beasts that lie in the depths. A unique world is generated each time a new level starts, so you will need to dynamically adapt your strategies and tactics during each session.

As you advance, the Dwarves will level up and gain new skills; progressing from weak dwarvlings to near immortal warriors or master craftsmen. There are also rare resources to be found deeper in the earth that grant access to better buildings and equipment. However, the deeper you dig the more dangerous foes you might unleash...

Features:
* Explore – The randomly generated maps offer replayability while also providing a sense of exploration
* Build – customize your settlement with not only practical constructions, but beautiful ones too! Build objects you think look great, while still gaining progress. Home is where the art is.
* Command – With an intuitive order system the player can easily control oodles of dwarves simultaneously without the need for extensive micro management

A-10 Tank Killer  Dynamix1989In A-10: TANK KILLER, you take command of the ugliest, most indestructible and devastating plane ever built, the A-10 Thunderbolt II, affectionately known as "The Warthog."

Fly low and dirty through smoke-filled battlefields, ripping apart enemy tanks with your 30mm "tank killing" cannon. The battle comes up fast and furious as you skim the ground to support allied troops. Take hits that would cripple any other aircraft and laugh when a wing or engine gets blown off during battle. Intercept radio messages, get strategy tips from Jake, your co-pilot, and take your stomach on a 3 Dimensional roller-coaster ride it'll never forget. All of this in unbelievably brilliant 256 color VGA, of course.******

Airball Microdeal1987"Now you’re really in trouble" said the Evil Wizard, "I’m turning you into a ball and sending you into a mansion with over 150 rooms!!" "If that sounds easy I’m telling you it’s not, the ball’s got a slow puncture and you’ll need to jump on a pump to pump it up in some rooms, but take heed, if you pump it up too much it will burst! In the rooms you’ll have to pick up objects I’ve left, such as crosses, tins of beans, a Buddha, a dragon statue, a pumpkin, a flask and also crates that you’ll need to get over obstacles! At the end of the maze is a spellbook that will turn you back into a human again.""Sounds easy" you say to the Evil Wizard. "Does it now! Well I’m putting spikes in the rooms as well, not just one kind but different kinds that react differently and killer pads on the floor, you’ve got no chance of success . . . Ha! Ha! You must first explore Treihadwyl, recruiting more champions and gathering items to aid in your task. Once you are prepared you must get the four crystals of storing from the towers. Take them to the fifth tower and there destroy Zendick, and banish the Lord of Entropy to the realm of chaos. To do this you will have to defeat the agents of Zendick. The Lord of Entropy has transformed many of the citizens of Trazere into weird monsters, and twisted the minds of many into those of psychotic killers. Comanche: Maximum Overkill Novalogic1992They also released two Mission-Disks titled "Global Challenge" and "Over the Edge", as well as a special CD-ROM version which included the two mission-disks and some extra missions.***I remember the first time I saw and played this. I thought WOW! The graphics were breathtaking for its time because "Comanche" introduced voxel-space instead of your standard (mostly non-textured at that time) vector graphics. Flying through canyons with full speed was an unbelievable satisfying feeling. The game is more an action game instead of a real simulation. Simulation fans might be dissappointed because its too simple, but I think it suited the game to be rather simple.

Command & Conquer  Virgin (Westwood Studios)1995It's a classic real-time strategy game. There exist two parties, NOD and GDI. Both have different units and structures. The game features about 15 mission on each side. In most missions you have to build a base first to build new units and structures. Special harvesters collect the so-called "Tiberium" and convert it to money in a reffinery. The game features fmv after every mission.***Review for add-on "The Covert Operations" ("Opérations Survie" in French).
[84]***One add-on was released: The Covert Operations, in 1996, added 15 new missions (7 for GDI, 8 for NOD).***
[22]***Diverges from real-world's timeline with a meteorite crashing down near river Tiber in Italy, introducing an alien substance to Earth dubbed Tiberium. Secret society known as Brotherhood of Nod had somehow predicted this event and had developed technologies to harvest Tiberium, much ahead of anyone else (presumably prior to the meteorite falling down on Earth).***Command & Conquer is possibly the most imitated game in the PC's history. Indeed, the game itself is far from original, borrowing heavily from Westwood's previous work (and inventor of the real-time strategy genre) Dune II. In C&C's favour, it improved on its forbear in many crucial areas, not least Dune II's interface which was clunky and unintuitive at best. Improvements were also made in graphics and sound, giving the whole package a more polished feel.
All in all, C&C was a technically excellent game which many gamers hold dear.

In 1996 the released an additional mission-cd titled "Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations", featuring 15 more difficult missions and a hidden dinosaur campaign.

Duke Nukem 3D  Apogee Software (3D Realms)1996About tech / gameplay innovation, to quote TV Tropes:
First Person Shooters prior to Duke 3d didn't feature "realistic" real world locations. Things that Duke 3d did first include: televisions that show different programmes; closed circuit security cameras that let you see other areas of the level than the bit you're in; working subway trains that take you across "town"; strip bars/clubs; breakable glass/destroyable furniture/mirrors that you can see your own reflection in; triggered set pieces such as earthquakes that can destroy the architecture around the player; and working toilets that you can use to gain extra health. These things were quite revolutionary at the time, and the level design in later games of the genre (such as Half Life, Deus Ex, Soldier Of Fortune, and even aspects of Doom 3) show signs of its ground breaking influence. It could be argued that this organic approach to level design would have come about anyway as a direct result of increasingly better technology... but nevertheless, Duke 3d was there first.
***The source code for the 1.5 version was released under GPL license on 2003-04-01.***"Complete Version", the one I have, came on single CD-ROM. This game, set sometime in the early 21st century, begins in a ravaged LA, which was overtaken by aliens while you were abducted during Duke Nukem II. Duke, upon returning to Earth, finds himself with another mess to clean up, and another alien race that needs exterminating. Duke is a can-do hero who realizes that sometimes innocent people have to die in order to save Earth, so accuracy of gun fire is not a real concern to him. :)

This game has a long list of cool things that haven't been attempted in 3D action games, yet. The weapons, for example, kick-butt:

* There's a mine that can be placed on any wall and sends out a laser trip beam-- perfect for multiplayer games.
* There's also a shrinker ray that reduces an opponent to the size of a G.I. Joe, at which point they are foot fodder--watch them splat!
* As in Shadow Warrior, you can swim under water, and even shoot players who are standing outside the water, or vice versa.

[Lionhead]***"Now let's talk about the opening of the story, as I said, you can be a man or a woman, the story starts in classic computer game style. It's all about this regal bird, flying through this amazing and incredible landscape, through down valleys, over mountaintops, through city streets, the bird just comes to rest on the top of this tower. The camera follows the dump down, it comes down, the crap lands on this kid's head - that's you. Anyway, that's the style of the game. You're nobody, you're nothing, you live in the sewers, everybody, you know, just disregards you. Your destiny is to be a truly great hero." --Molyneux at X06
