Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2008Far more enjoyable to play than the base CnC3 in my experience, and the difficulty options actually work properly in this. In terms of story, Kane's Wrath is sort of a filler, covering things between second and third tiberium wars, clarifying some events of third tiberium war and shows part of the events leading to CnC4. If anyone is ever interested in CnC3, then this is the only reason to get it, besides following the story of Kane (Tiberium series) if you're into that sort of thing. Thisis also very much focused on mutliplayer experience as the story only allows you to play with Nod and its sub-factions and only cursorily demonstrating the new sub-factions for GDI and Scrin.***In the name of Kane! The Command & Conquer™ series continues to thrive with Command & Conquer™ 3: Kane’s Wrath. As the expansion pack to the critically-acclaimed and fan favorite, Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars™, this Real-time Strategy (RTS) game returns to the Tiberium Universe with Kane at the center of an epic new single player campaign spanning 20 years – from the rebirth of the Brotherhood of Nod after the Second Tiberium War through the dramatic events of the Third Tiberium War and beyond. This story will be told through a new set of high-definition, live action video sequences starring a celebrity cast including Joe Kucan, playing the megalomaniac leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, alongside new talent Natasha Henstridge and Carl Lumbly. With your help, Commander, the Dark Messiah may rise again!

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2010Includes two campaigns selectable after ~3 tutorial/prologue missions, both of which end in superficially same manner but have their own quirks which may be of interest, though in terms of sequels (if there ever will be such) there's little need for retconning either campaign as they are sufficiently separated/streamlined not to clash with each other (but can't exist simultaneously).

Personally the singleplayer portion is rather pointless with obvious focus on 2-3 player coops or larger pvp matches.

Most of the difficulty on solo/coop games comes from the fact that the enemy isn't limited to 3-6 MCV calldowns like you are and thus can never be truly defeated (usually it isn't the objective and when it is, they don't call new MCVs when one id destroyed).

For anyone wanting good solo game, better look at the older free CnC games (Tiberian Sun for example) or games unrelated to CnC series. Didn't try multiplayer, so it might be more interesting if that's your thing.***In the year 2062, humanity found itself on the brink of extinction. Tiberium, the mysterious, alien crystalline structure that infested Earth for decades and caused years of relentless conflict between the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod, was close to rendering the planet uninhabitable. In the midst of this crisis, Kane, Nod's prophetic leader, emerged from seclusion to deliver GDI the message that he had developed a system that could control Tiberium and harness its power. But he could not build this "Tiberium Control Network" without GDI's cooperation. Thus, the two opposing factions—GDI and Nod—found themselves in a desperate and unlikely alliance to stop Tiberium from extinguishing mankind.

"KANE. GDI. NOD. TIBERIUM. HOW WILL IT END?"
Now, after 15 years, the network is nearly complete. Tiberium is under strict control and our revitalized planet is on the cusp of a new age of prosperity and progress. It is only now that the world's citizens begin to seriously ponder why Kane chose to help, and what he will want in return. These questions and more lead to the dramatic final act of the 15-year Tiberium saga in Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight.

Kane. GDI. Nod. Tiberium. How will it end? Find out in Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight, told through gritty live-action cinematics, persistent player progression, and a multitude of innovations to the classic fast and fluid Command & Conquer gameplay.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak  Gearbox Software (Blackbird Interactive)2016Blackbird has gained access to Homeworld IP but whether or not Hardware will be renamed to Homeworld is still seemingly not official, though many sources have started calling it Homeworld: Shipbreakers as a result.
Update: The rename happened after this was written.

Supposedly this also has made the game not F2P, but only thing said about that is a twitter post by Randy Pitchford from Gearbox says it doesn't need to be F2P anymore, not that it won't be. Until official announcement is made, that is what people will assume however.

PlanetSide 2 Sony Online Entertainment2015 PS4labelimageminimize
PlanetSide 2 Sony Online Entertainment2012PlanetSide 2 takes all the groundbreaking features from the original game – massive multiplayer battles, distinct empires to rally around, and enormous continents where intense ground and air combat unfolds – and adds features that modern gamers have come to expect out of the FPS and MMO genres. With advanced technology, years of gamer feedback, and a new SOE proprietary MMO game engine called Forgelight™, PlanetSide 2 offers a truly competitive and visceral FPS experience with massive warfare, massive customization and massive community.

Across the continents of Auraxis, thousands of players will come together in enormous battles to win control of critical territories and key resources for their empire. With a an extensive skill tree and free-form class-based system, players will be able to customize their soldier, weapons and vehicles to match their play-style, as well as the needs of their squad, outfit or empire. Battles can last for days or weeks, so players will need to build alliances and specialized combat outfits to take on long-term strategic and tactical initiatives. With air and ground combat, the battles will be larger and more intense than ever.

KEY FEATURES:
* MASSIVE WARFARE: Battles will take place not between dozens of troops, but hundreds; with air and ground vehicles slugging it out alongside squads of troops. Whether in open fields, tightly-packed urban centers or enormous structures, winning will require strategic teamwork and a quick trigger finger in the massive battles.
* THREE EMPIRES: Players will have their choice to join three different empires:
* TERRAN REPUBLIC – With a militaristic government, the Terran Republic uses its Imperial authoritarian might to impel humanity to peaceful coexistence through any means necessary.
* NEW CONGLOMERATE – A loosely connected group of rebel factions and idealistic freedom fighters, the New Conglomerate fights against the hegemony of the Terran.
* VANU SOVEREIGNTY – A technocratic faction that believes humanity can only evolve by rediscovering and tapping the lost technology of the Vanu.
* BATTLE FOR TERRITORIES & RESOURCES: The core gameplay of PlanetSide 2 is about holding key territories and controlling valuable resources. Each battleground holds valuable resources and key positions, and the empire that can conquer (and manage to hold) these territories will be rewarded with fuel bonuses, ammo bonuses, tech bonuses, and more.Persistence: In Planetside 2 battles will last longer than a match timer. Battles will last for days or weeks, and finally taking control of the base means it’s yours until someone can take it back. Working strategically as a team to capture key tactical positions such as power plants and ammo depots will have long-lasting effects that can shift the tide of battle.
* ENORMOUS MAPS: PlanetSide 2 will launch with several continent maps; every inch of which will be contestable space. With the new territorial control meta-game, landmass will have intrinsic value even without notable installations or major features.
* FREE-FORM CLASS-BASED SYSTEM: Players will be able to unlock diverse combat roles by advancing through the skill tree, including several classic roles from PlanetSide. As players unlock new roles, they will be able to switch between them at will.
* MISSION SYSTEM: Both SOE and players will be able to drive content, easing new players into the game and allowing veterans to feed content to players.
* SKILL TREES: Players will be able to build their soldier to match their play-style, or to match the needs of their squad, outfit or empire. Each combat role, vehicle and weapon will have extensive skill trees. These cert trees will allow players to grow characters laterally, unlocking weapons, attachments, equipment, specialized skills, and more.
* OUTFITS: Outfits (guilds) will also be able to customize themselves – allowing outfits to have their own identity, reputation and role in the ongoing war.
* WEAPONS: Players will be able to access more than 20 basic weapons, which can be customized to players’ preference or purpose.
* VEHICLES: More than 10 vehicles with two unique vehicles per empire. Players will be able to customize each vehicle, unlocking new skills and featuresVivox Integration: Players will be able to communicate with their squads both through keyboard and voice chat.
