The Price is Right author (author;;Ted slauson)?Ted Slauson is a huge fan of The Price is Right (TPIR). He is also a mathematician and knows at least how to program in BASIC and Visual BASIC. He collected lists of prizes and prices and studied the various games used on TPIR (the management purposefully reuses prizes, though they sometimes vary configurations and options, especially with cars to foil simple memorization, and inflation can cause a new price on an old item). His collection of data grew into database files, then into a BASIC game, and eventually it was updated to be a Visual BASIC game. Or rather, a simulation of The Price is Right. Every prize, price, and game is perfectly simulated. This of course is an unofficial game.

See the entry for the DOS version of this game for some interesting notes.

Master of Dimensions  Eidos Interactive (Mad Engine)1996The sorcerer Merlin is not only involved in mystical but also in physical things and journeys to other dimensions. One bad day he met the wizard of the fairyland. Since the two didn't particularly like each other, it finally came to a conflict ending with the fragmentation of Merlin's magic wand. The single parts were hidden in different dimensions - and Merlin's power was lost. A millennium later a boy coincidentally finds a dimension machine on the attic of his Grandpa: The hunt for the parts of the magic wand can begin.

Master of Dimension (German title: The Fifth Dimension) is an adventure, using different elements of the genre: beside the classic point'n'click, movie passages (in the private eye dimension) à la Snatcher are offered, while switching to big screens is a style borrowed from French or Japanese productions. The latter takes place when important conversations are lead or viewing special items. Gamers realize in a "dramatic" way that this is the point players have to turn your attention to.***

Santa Fe Mysteries: The Elk Moon Murder Activision1996The Elk Moon Murder is a full motion video adventure game. You take on the part of rookie detective with the Santa Fe police. Anna Elk Moon, a famous native American artist, has been murdered and you have five days to solve the mystery, before "the big boys muscle in", as your chief inspector tells you.

The game features a point & click interface. You have eight hours a day, while almost every action you take decreases 15 minutes of your time. Puzzle solving is not part of the game really. Instead you have to listen to the usual suspects, order forensics and shoot photos. Your goal is to come up with an arrest warrant at the end of the game.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert  Virgin (Westwood Studios)1996Red Alert is one of the most successful and well known real-time strategy, following on the first Command & Conquer released in 1995. Game mechanisms and strategies has not been changed - you have to build a base, produce combat units and you harvest resources. The story, however, is distinctly different - it is not about two enemy organizations, but you can play either for allies or for Soviets. These two sides battle for the fate of planet Earth itself. The game has a variety of missions: from conventional forestry, through missions on the water and also indoor missions, where you have to use only infantry.***
