The Marine game was generally regarded as superior to either of the alien games, but two years on AvP2 still failed to match Half-Life as most people's favourite FPS.***Sequel to one of the most frightening games ever made, Aliens vs. Predator 2 takes you to Planet LV1201, where three diverse and bloodthirsty species battle for survival.
The story-driven plot weaves together the fates of all three races, while the action is as heart stopping as the blockbuster films on which this game is based. Choose to play as Alien, Predator, or Marine as you use your physical prowess, killer instincts, or superior firepower to stay alive.

* Survival Pack (2009-04-21)
* Crash Course (2009-09-29)***For 1-8 players, 2-8 in versus, 1-4 in other modes.***bleeding - border case as this only occurs when a player gets incapacitated and waits for someone to assist them.
hypermobile foes - hunters mainly, the others have only slightly higher mobility than the protagonists.
karmic creatures - boomer, killing him in close quarters has the same effect as having him barf on you.
killing blow - the common infected are so very fragile. not applicable to the special infected.
elite npcs - the special infected.

asymmetric factions - versus mode, the infected and the survivors.***US 2008-11-17
RU 2008-11-20 by Akella***Built for multiplayer cooperative play (with up to four players), single player is the same as multiplayer except the other characters are AI controlled and not the intended point. The AI generally controls all missing players even in multiplayer games and takes over temporarily if a player goes AFK (at least if they tell it to).***Only English, French, German, Spanish and Russian have full voice-overs, the others are as text only.***Minimum:

Set in the immediate aftermath of the long-awaited zombie apocalypse, L4D's survival co-op game mode is played out across four sprawling "Movies" set in a variety of urban and rural environments. Each "Movie" has an over-riding team objective, is comprised of five large maps, and may be played by 1 to 4 human players.

New technology dubbed "the AI Director" is used to procedurally generate a unique experience each time the game is played. Just as in Hollywood films, the Director calls for new monsters, sounds, and action as it tailors the gameplay experience based upon the team's performance.

[...] Left 4 Dead also includes new multiplayer modes.

* Addictive co-op action gameplay [...]
* Advanced artificial intelligence drives both friendly and unfriendly creatures to dynamically create intense single-player, co-op, and multiplayer experiences every time the game is played
* 20 new maps. 10 new weapons. Four sprawling "Movies"
* Match making, stats, rankings, and awards system drive collaborative play
* Designer's Commentary mode allows gamers to go "behind the scenes" of the game
* Powered by Source and Steam

Left 4 Dead 2 Valve;EA Partners (Valve)2009Set in the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Left 4 Dead, the #1 co-op game of 2008.
This co-operative action horror FPS takes you and your friends through the cities, swamps and cemeteries of the Deep South, from Savannah to New Orleans across five expansive campaigns.
You'll play as one of four new survivors armed with a wide and devastating array of classic and upgraded weapons. In addition to firearms, you'll also get a chance to take out some aggression on infected with a variety of carnage-creating melee weapons, from chainsaws to axes and even the deadly frying pan.
You'll be putting these weapons to the test against (or playing as in Versus) three horrific and formidable new Special Infected. You'll also encounter five new “uncommon” common infected, including the terrifying Mudmen.
Helping to take L4D's frantic, action-packed gameplay to the next level is AI Director 2.0. This improved Director has the ability to procedurally change the weather you'll fight through and the pathways you'll take, in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match your performance. L4D2 promises a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience every time the game is played, custom-fitted to your style of play.***Más zombies y más pantallas.
Una versión en esteroides del primer Left 4 Dead.
Encuentro especialmente interesante la introducción del Charger y de los infectados especiales no jugables.

Aliens: Colonial Marines  Sega (Gearbox Software;TimeGate Studios;Nerve Software)2013Has been received extremely poorly, here's few things that go over why:
* http://www.destructoid.com/so-who-the-hell-did-make-aliens-colonial-marines--244939.phtml
* http://www.destructoid.com/gearbox-lied-about-aliens-from-e3-demo-to-retail-product-244966.phtml
* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lGXDM3LGnk***For any Aliens fans, this game will be horribly disappointing. Despite the gratuitous fanservice from including LV-426, Hadley's Hope, Sulaco, the Derelict and its dead Jockey pilot, Hicks, and various other things from the movies, this game utterly fails to deliver on the atmosphere of the films. Alien acidic blood is only a minor annoyance, player can trivially fight the aliens in melee, the aliens themselves seem incredibly lazy, the way player can carry ~10 different weapons with separate ammo for each, extremely linear locations, and whatever else make this feel unsatisfying when you come to it expecting a proper Aliens game. The license seems almost wasted on it considering how much they deviate from what fans of the franchise would expect. If they had made this a game with no ties to Aliens franchise it would've probably been half-decent, but as it is, it fails to be what it is supposed to be. The graphics are the main point where this actually is quite good at, though for PC game they're kinda low fidelity, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a game that's published on the usual platform trio (X360/PS3/PC).

To summarize: fans of the Alien franchise, keep away. People who don't care for the franchise on the other hand, this can work as a mediocre tube shooter.
