Generally most air ducts and such in real life tend to be smaller than what is required for humans to go through (you can probably fit your arm in one, but not your whole body), even if force is applied. Compare with sewers.

There are some cases where air ducts are large enough for humans to pass through comfortably, but these are commonly vertical.
